The secret is the twisted stitch and if you don’t know how to do it, this pattern will teach you! The result is a beautiful, rustic, cable-look texture and you won’t believe how fast it works up compared to traditional cabeling. In super bulky weight yarn, this is truly an impressive yet speedy project. And the pattern includes instructions for sizes for the whole family from 6 months to large adult.
For this pattern you’ll need about 100 yards (90m) of a super bulky weight wool like MillaMia Naturally Soft Super Chunky and 10mm and 12mm needles. This pattern is worked in the round so you can choose to do that on 16″ circular needles, DPNs or use a longer circular cord and do magic loop. That part is up to your personal preference. Personally, I started with the 16″ circulars and moved to magic loop for the crown decreases.
Though the twisted stitch may be a new technique for you, It’s definitely doable for any beginner if you’re already comfortable with knits, purls and k2tog decreases.
